Oway Shaping Putty Styler Review

ABOUT SHAPING PUTTY
The Shaping Putty is a fiber wax that adds control and hold back to the hair. It has a strong hold but doesn't feel stiff or crunchy.

-Styles, separates and sculpts shapes with long- lasting hold.

-Ideal for curly hair and for layered and very textured lines.

-Work with hands, becomes a stringy fiber, like a cobweb that amplifies volume and form.

SHAPING PUTTY WITH NO FILLER
This was my first time trying Oway's Shaping Putty on wet hair! For this first wash, I decided to skip my "filler" in my wet hair styling. For reference, when I style wet I usually like a four step layering combo of leave in, filler, firm gel then oil to seal. My hair came out decent, but I definitely think something was off. It may be because I skipped a filler, or because my wet hair likes gels, or both! That being said, I still had nice shine and my hair felt so soft.

-Pre-Poo: The Innate Life Scalp Treatment for Problematic Scalp and Olaplex No 3...left on a few hours.
-Cleanse: Oway Rebuilding Hair Bath
-Masks: Oway Rebuilding Mask
-Stylers (wet): Oway Smoothing Conditioner mixed with Save Me From Sun + Sweat Hair Reboot (as a leave in), Oway Shaping Putty, Nurturing Drops
-Stylers (dry): Oway Precious Wax
-Techique: The Curl Ninja "Define and Control" Technique, air dried with front pieces clipped back to stretch them out. I used my favorite Aquis hair towel to remove excess water.

SHAPING PUTTY WITH FILLER
For this wash, I added in my filler again and still used Shaping Putty as my firm hold product. I kept everything else the same to compare.

-Stylers (wet): Oway Smoothing Conditioner mixed with Save Me From Age Acceleration Hair Reboot (as a leave in), Oway Flux Potion, Oway Shaping Putty, Nurturing Drops
-Techique: The Curl Ninja "Define and Control" Technique, air dried with front pieces clipped back to stretch them out. I used my favorite Aquis hair towel to remove excess water.

I like these results better than the wash without my filler step. I think I did have nice curl definition, but for wet styling w/Oway, I still prefer their Frozen Glaze to Shaping Putty because I have less overall frizz and my hair holds up nicer for days after. I do prefer gels over creams on wet hair, so I’m not surprised. I did have nice Day 2 and 3 hair while using Shaping Putty to wet style, but they were a bit frizzier than usual.

Something to remember, is my high is super high porosity, unmanageable, frizz and also a lot of the length sadly is still damaged from using bad products last year I thought were safe. My hair is extremely hard to tame.
